Nouriel Roubini: I fear the worst is yet to come – Times Online

Despite the headline, this is more of a profile of an economist who predicted the global financial crisis rather than an analysis of his expectations for the future. On that front, he offers this:

> He said the world economy was “at a breaking point.”

> He believes the stock markets are now “essentially in free fall” and “we are reaching the point of sheer panic.”

> Last week he predicted that “hundreds of hedge funds will go bust and stock markets may soon have to shut in order to stem the panic selling … The next day trading was briefly stopped in New York and Moscow.”
